Concrete pavers started being used mainly in Germany after the 2nd
World War as a replacement for clay pavers. The logic behind the small
size of pavers comes from the failure of large size concrete slabs,
which tend to crack under heavy loads.
An important point in concrete pavers is that they
are composed of usually two semi-dry mixes strongly vibrated together,
resulting in extreme strength.
